彼女の名前は“Gaige”。Gearbox Softwareが「Borderlands 2」の新キャラクター，Mechromancerの詳細を発表

　Gearbox Softwareは，北米で2012年9月18日に発売されるFPS「Borderlands 2」（PC/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360）の5人めのプレイアブルキャラクター，“Mechromancer”の詳細を発表した。Mechromancerは本編リリース後にダウンロード販売される，新たなキャラクターだ。

　おそらく，メカと死者を召喚するネクロマンサーを合わせた造語のMechromancerは，その名のとおり，浮遊型の大型ロボット「デストラップ」を召喚して戦うというスキルを持っている。これまで未発表だったが，彼女の名前は「Gaige」（ゲイジ）で，この名前もどこかメカっぽい。新たに公開されたアートワークでは，これまで発表されていたものに比べて，ちょっと年上のイメージになったようだ。

　このMechromancerのDLCは，欧米での発売から約1か月後の10月16日に発売される予定で，価格は9.99ドルもしくは800マイクロソフトポイントだ。2012年4月12日に掲載した記事でもお伝えしたように，本編を予約したファンなら，無料で入手できる。
