「Borderlands 2」の拡張パックに登場する6人目のプレイヤーキャラクター“クリーグ・ザ・サイコ”が発表

　Gearbox Softwareは，3月22日から24日まで開催されていたPAX Eastにおいて，「Borderlands 2」（PC/PlayStation 3/Xbox 360）の最新拡張パックで追加される6人目のプレイヤーキャラクターとして，「Krieg the Psycho」をリリースすることを正式に発表した。

　“クリーグ”のベースになるのは，ゲーム中で奇声を上げながらプレイヤーキャラクターに突っ込んでくる「サイコ」と呼ばれるタイプのバンディット。トレイラーからは，何者かによって人体実験に利用されていたところを地下施設から逃げ出し，ヴォルトハンターとして名乗りを上げることになったらしいことがうかがえる。斧を利用して敵に突っ込むことで，ヘルスを回復できる「Blood Axe Rampage」というアクションスキルが用意されており，メレー系の武器やグレネードを中心にした至近距離型の戦法を楽しめるようだ。


　クリーグのスキルツリーは，相手への爆破ダメージを増大させたり，グレネードや銃弾を入手しやすくなったりという攻撃スキルが中心の「Bloodlust」，アクションスキルのクールダウンタイムを短縮するなど，受けたダメージでボーナスが加算される「Mania」，そして自分が炎上しているときに相手へのダメージを向上させるといった火炎系のエレメンタルスキル「Hellborn」となっている。もちろん，銃器を利用することもできるほか，斧を投げるといったアクションも可能になっている。

　Kreig the Psychoは，アメリカでは9.99ドルでリリースすることがアナウンスされているが，5月中のリリースという以外の詳しい発表は行われていない。なお4月2日に公開される「The Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Pack」は，価格は4.99ドル（シーズンパスでは無料），内容はレベルキャップを61にまで引き上げるほか，最上位装備となる「Pearlescent」や3周目のアンロックが行われるものとなる予定だ。
