「Risk of Rain 2」（Xbox One/PS4）に向けた“Anniversary Update”の配信がスタート。Switch向けアップデートも近日中に配信予定

　Gearbox PublishingとHopoo Gamesは米国時間2021年6月29日，ローグライク要素を持つアクションゲーム「Risk of Rain 2」（PC / Xbox One / PlayStation 4 / Nintendo Switch）のXbox One版とPS4版に向けた無料アップデート「Anniversary Update」の配信を開始し，そのトレイラーを公開した。アップデートのコンテンツはPS5とXbox Series Xの後方互換機能でも利用可能。Switch向けアップデートの配信も近日中に開始となる。


　2019年3月にSteamでアーリーアクセスが開始，そして2020年8月に正式リリースとなったRisk of Rain 2。プレイするたびにステージや敵，ボス，アイテムがランダムで生成されるローグライク的なゲームシステムは前作「Risk of Rain」から継承しつつ，2Dの横スクロール型ではなく3Dの三人称視点アクションとなって登場した作品である。Steamだけで400万本以上の販売実績を持ち，Steamレビューでも“圧倒的に好評”を獲得している人気作だ。

Bandit

　2021年3月にPC版で先行公開となったAnniversary Updateでは，Risk of Rainに登場したサバイバー「Bandit」（バンディット）が復活。そのほか，伝説のボス「Grandparent」，新たなモンスタータイプ，アイテムの追加，Commando，MUL-T，REX，Captain，Loader，Mercenaryへの新スキル導入，さらに，ログブックの改良，パフォーマンスの改善を含む最適化なども行われている。


　2021年内に新たな拡張パックも登場する予定のRisk of Rain 2。
　なおPC版はSteamサマーセール（関連記事）の対象となっており，本稿執筆時点で33％オフ（通常税込価格2570円が1721円）にて購入可能だ（Steam※外部リンク）。
