［GDC 2013］「風ノ旅ビト」が6冠を達成。開発者が選ぶゲーム賞「The 13th annual Game Developers Choice Awards」受賞式レポート

　サンフランシスコで開催中のGame Developers Conference 2013で，現地時間の2013年3月27日，「Game Developers Choice Awards」が開かれた。
　Game Developers Choice Awardsは，約500名のゲーム業界関係者の投票により，優れた作品を選出するという賞。ゲームだけでなく，特筆すべき業績を残した個人も表彰される。


　各部門のノミネート作品と受賞作は以下のリストのとおり。これを見ると分かるように，Game of the Yearを含む6部門を受賞した「風ノ旅ビト（Journey）」の圧勝という結果だ。日本産タイトルとしては，「極限脱出ADV 善人シボウデス（Virtue's Last Reward）」（PS Vita，3DS）「新・光神話 パルテナの鏡（Kid Icarus: Uprising）」「GRAVITY DAZE/重力的眩暈：上層への帰還において、彼女の内宇宙に生じた摂動（Gravity Rush）」がノミネートされていたが，惜しくも受賞を逃した。

　そして，業界に大きく貢献した人を称える“大使”の意味を含んだAmbassador Awardは，Sun Microsystemsで活躍し，展覧会である“The Art of Video Games”を立ち上げたChris Melissinos氏が受賞。また，Lifetime Achievement Award（生涯功労賞）を，BioWareの創設者であるRay Muzyka氏とGreg Zeschuk氏が，Pioneer Award（パイオニア賞）を，「Spacewar!」の開発者であるSteve Russell氏が，それぞれ受賞した。
