新作RTS「Total War Saga: Throne of Britannia」の制作が発表。イギリス建国にまつわる物語を，よりミクロな視点で描く

　Sega of EuropeとCreative Assemblyが，「トータルウォー」シリーズの新作RTS「Total War Saga: Throne of Britannia」の制作をアナウンスし，トレイラーを公開した。発売は，2018年が予定されている。

　「トータルウォー」シリーズはこれまで，複数の大陸にまたがる規模で歴史を再現する作品が多かったが，今回の「Total War Saga: Throne of Britannia」は，よりミクロな視点から歴史にスポットライトを当てたシリーズの第1弾になるという。
　アングロ・サクソン人がグレートブリテン島に大小の王国を建てた，いわゆる「七王国時代」が終わりを告げた878年からゲームは始まり，バイキングの侵入やアルフレッド王の台頭など，イギリス，アイルランド，ウェールズ，そしてスコットランドにまつわるエピソードを，「トータルウォー」シリーズらしい壮大なバトルと共に体験できるという。


　Steamではすでに「Total War Saga: Throne of Britannia」のプロダクトページが公開されているが，今のところアートワーク数点とゲームの時代設定などが発表されているだけだ。日本語対応についても今後の発表を待つという状況なので，続報を楽しみにしたい。
